Bitcoin donation button for Wordpress

I wanted a donate button on my Wordpress site and started out with Paypal but it seems they have put a stop to that for non-charities so I went on to Bitpay but it was the same for them if you wanted to be able to process more than $500 a year.
Instead I simply got an eWallet at Blockchain and generated an address for donations and put it on the site with a Wordpress plugin called BitMate Author Donations. I now have an address like:
bitcoin:1JAxmzGbkmRgoUkpbU7UR7QWUh26NN3su1?label=Donation-from%blablabla&message=Donation-from%3Ahttp%3A%2F%2Fblabla.com%2F
But how do I test if this is actually working? Do I have to open a software wallet to make a donation to myself? Or can I associate the bitcoin protocol to the Blockchain wallet?
What's the best way to have a donation button where visitors can donate directly with Paypal or their credit cards but I receive bitcoins?

I've done my campaign entirely OSS and a few spare virtual cloud cycles, keeping under reporting thresholds due to lacy of a treasurer. I'm not interested in becoming a ledger keeper unless it's keeping in an immutable public ledger.
I'm advocating for a 30 hour work week, 30 days paid vacation leave, gigabit symmetrical internet access, space mining, and a bit more. I also agree with nearly every other issue 'progressive'. All the (D)s on the ballot are for fixing the climate, universal childcare and single payer healthcare, even if you're for just these three issues, you should donate as much money as possible to those candidates. I'm sure they're both for abolishing "right-to-work" laws, among other issues important issues, making PR and DC states, fixing local water security issues. There's so many more issues, but we could spend hours talking about it. Healthcare and civility seem to be people's largest issues.
I'm a bit more brave regarding body integrity and religious liberties. I'm also seeking to start a congressional esports league to match the current "baseball" teams.

How to accept Dogecoin with your business, and why. A few pointers.

THE UPDATED VERSION OF THIS POST CAN BE FOUND HERE.
You are a business owner and sell goods or services. You heard about Dogecoin. You wonder how you can use it in your business. This thread is for you.
If you have no idea what Dogecoin is, read up on it here (click). In short, it is a digital currency that is perfect for everyday use. Read on if you want to know why it would be good for your enterprise.
Why should I accept payments in Dogecoin?
Dogecoin offers you:
Dogecoin can be exchanged to national currencies. You can do this easily by yourself or use the automatic conversion offered by some payment processors (all is explained further down). You can also just keep your Dogecoin and spend it or offer it to your employees! :)
Dogecoin is fun and it gets ever more useful the more people like you use and accept it. There are other merchants who have gone this path before you - you can read interviews about them and their experiences on this blog. You can also talk with other merchants in /dogevendors, check out these testimonials ([1, 2], 3), search this subreddit and post any questions you have right here!
I want to accept donations. What are my options?
Just download the client and put up the wallet address up on your page with donation info. Done! That's it! If you want something snazzy, check out this widget or this one (or this one) (or this one).
If you need to track who sent you how much money (for goodies and that), you could ask that donators tell you that they're sending you a very specific amount of coins (e.g. 100.424242), and match it to their name. However, this can be abused as your transaction history is public. If you're actually selling stuff, check out the next section instead.
I sell stuff online. What are my options?
You have a lot! It boils down to one of these:
The last option can be interesting if you don't have your own web store, are selling digital goods and/or are just selling on as a side business. If your business is your main income, handling payment yourself is probably better.
1) Manually processing transactions
All you need for this is a Dogecoin wallet. You simply generate a payment address for each of your customers, send it to them and confirm that your coins arrived at the address. This is super fast to set up and there is absolutely no commitment.
If you just want to try it out before investing a lot of effort, just set up a wallet (either with the Dogecoin desktop client or an online wallet (listed under Browser "here") and let your customers know that they can now pay with Dogecoin. You can use some of these buttons if you wish( 1 2 3 4 5) and browse this asset repository of useful artwork. The graphical interface is still being developed, but you can browse the files and find license information already :)
2) Automatically processing transactions
Check out the section on APIs and payment processors further down!
3) Selling stuff through a 3rd-party site
There are a number of sites that function a lot like eBay, Etsy and Xmart. You enter your products and they handle the payment and web store stuff. This is most convenient if you have digital goods to sell (music, books...) and want to send them out automatically.
If you are an Etsy user who wants to accept Dogecoin, click here.
I sell from a physical store or location. What are my options?
All you need is an internet connection in your store and a web-capable device, such as a mobile phone, cheap tablet or a nearby PC. On-site, your customers can send you coins using their phone, or you can sell coupons for your goods online in advance.
DogePos is a point-of-sales app that is open source and Koupah announced that they will accept Doge as well. You can use or apply for all of these tools right now! Either way, all you need is a way to 1) convert a USD price into Doge, and to 2) check that the coins have arrived in your wallet.
To check your wallet balance and Doge prices, you can use the app MyDOGE oniPhones and iPads, and this app on Android devices. This is one of many useful price converter websites you can bookmark. Checking your balance on the PC can be done with the wallet client.
If you want to sell your goods or coupons for them online, it might be easiest use a ready-made stores capable of digital distribution. Check point "3)" in the above section for some options.
Dogecoin payment processors, APIs, checkouts
Currently, the established platforms accepting Dogecoin seem to be these:
I'm trying a tentative summary here to save you some research, but I'd appreciate comments a lot. None of the three have setup or monthly fees (except some optional subscriptions).
GoCoin:
Coinpayments:
You can probably find people who have used one of these in this thread. This guy volunteered his code for automatic currency conversion and his help setting up the plugin for OpenCart, for example!
If you are tech-inclined, you could run your own payment server with dogecoind and an API like this. This is not yet ready for laypeople though, so don't do that unless you want to get messy.
Exchanging Doge to USD/EUGBP/other national currencies
If you don't have your payment processor do it for you, at some point you will want to get your Doge converted to your currency of choice, which you should do at an exchange. Keep in mind that you will have to get registered and verified at the exchange, which can take up to a week.
Transfers to and from national currency can take a few days, but trading and transferring digital currencies is very fast and usually near-instant. The following exchanges let you trade your Doge for national currency directly (last updated Sep 17):
If your currency is not listed above, you can either sell your Doge here, or exchange them to Bitcoin and then sell those. I find Kraken (EUR, KRW, USD) to be the best option for EUR, but you can sell Doge for BTC on all of the exchanges mentioned above, or choose one from this list. To sell BTC for national currency, you can also go to Justcoin or LocalBitcoins. There are many similar sites - just pick the one you like best!
Things get developed incredibly fast and Dogecoin is not even a year old. This will only get easier, so keep checking back! Justcoin is looking to trade Dogecoin to national currency, and others are sure to follow.
Alright! How do I promote my business now that I accept Dogecoin?
Note that there's a collection of Dogecoin artwork and assets for you to use in this repository, complete with license information so you can design your promotions and website with it.
1) Submit your business to these directories:
2) If you are a brick-and-mortar store, mark your business on these maps [1, 2]. Post if you have problems!
3) Make a promotion post in one of these subreddits:
You will get views, especially if you offer an interesting product or a Doge-related promotion. Hint: the best promotion is to offer a few % off for all Dogecoin purchases. Also post and comment to this just to discuss your plans and ask your questions. Come talk to us here and in /dogevendors, we are a fun community :)
This post is not updated anymore. Check the thread linked at the top of this post for the newest version. The last big edits were on Aug 4 (DogeAPI, Prelude) and Sep 17 (Updates on exchanges and websites) and Oct 22 (Moolah).

Why I believe we're on the cusp of the 3rd great Bitcoin bubble

We've recovered from the last crash
You might think it's a bit early (based on the time frame for the last recovery), but things are looking a lot different than in 2011. I would suggest its because the last bubble popped prematurely due to Mt. Gox's failure of a trading engine.
Interest in buying Bitcoins has gone up to its highest point since the last bubble.
There's a similar spike in general interest. Partly helped along by the Silk Road news.
The network is being used at the same rate as during the last bubble.
The Bitcoin ATM story (see below) is causing Bitcoin to trend in Canada on Google (was #1 for a bit). The $27 story (see below) will almost certainly cause a large spike worldwide in Google trends once they're updated up to yesterday.
Lots and lots of new businesses now accept Bitcoins
One legitimate criticism of Bitcoin last year was the lack of places to spend them. We basically just had Alpaca Socks, Reddit and Wordpress, we've grown a lot since then!
Charities and others are taking donations
The first Bitcoin I ever spent was to donate to Wikileaks. More and more places are setting up Bitcoin donation buttons, because why not?
The $27 story is going massively viral
I think the attention this story is getting took a lot of us by surprise. We're thinking "of course if you bought Bitcoins in 2009 you're rich" and it didn't make much of a splash. But to the rest of the world it's a very novel and interesting story.
The first Bitcoin ATM has been installed
Easier way for people acquire Bitcoins with cash. Lots of free publicity. More machines are on their way and will generate more and more news.
Institutional money is coming
Afraid with the price at $200 that it will be hard to find enough moms and pops to keep money coming in faster than miners are selling? Don't be, there are individuals out there with a net worth higher than the entire Bitcoin ecosystem.
Interesting new developments
Cool things that didn't exist before the last bubble (as far as I remember).
Governments are explicitly saying it's not illegal
More and more governments are either saying Bitcoins are legitimate currency, or releasing guidelines for exchanges to comply with anti-money-laundering laws.
New generation of exchanges
Mt. Gox's terrible trading engine was a huge factor in the last crash. They couldn't keep up with all the new interest.
This time around there are more exchanges in more countries, and not a single point of liquidity.

(Donation Requests) Add a damn Bitcoin option as a payment method. The majority of us won't use it unless it's on the main screen. We love using Bitcoin, please let us use it on you!

DON'T SEND ME LINKS ON HOW TO DONATE USING BITCOIN (I already know them) because that isn't the point. The idea is that it's free advertising for something we believe in. We will follow thank you with donations. At least put up a BTC-QR code or public key. Literally would take two minutes. https://www.interserver.net/tips/kb/how-to-add-a-bitcoin-donate-button-to-your-wordpress-blog/

Bitcoin button for Wordpress site

I've searched through a decent amount of bitcoin and many of the potentially useful posts I found seemed a bit dated. I know there are numerous bitcoin plugins for Wordpress but many of them go through bitpay or something like that. Is there a safe plugin to create a simple Donate button that accepts bitcoin donations using my public wallet address?
I'm relatively new to the actual use of bitcoin but I have been following it for years. I remember back when my college roommate brought it up to me (circa 2009). There was an article about how someone made thousands of dollars when bitcoin jumped to like $8 each - we thought we missed the boat. Oh how I wish I could have went back to those times.
Slightly digressed - anyway, I'll be launching my new site where I am selling a single product and would really like to offer the capability for those who wish to support the project to donate. I already have the woocommerce plugin that allows customers to pay via bitcoin, but a separate donate button would be great.
Thanks!

Accepting Bitcoin Anonymously

I want to be able to place a "Donate Btc" button on my WordPress site (selling goods).
As one of the main advertised attractions of Bitcoin is the anonymous part, I don't want to go through any Merchant processors as they require some personal info. But even looking at a simpler solution, for example, Blockchain's API, they too also need the same.
Having spent the best part of a week looking, I'm starting to lose faith.
If anyone here knows of a solution, (and is even willing to install it), then I'll happily pay on completion of a working installation.
tl;dr accept payment to wallet without revealing any personal info

Bitcoin donation popup plugin for Wordpress?

I've been unsuccessfully searching for a specific Bitcoin donation/tipping plugin for over a year now, and I'd like to know if such a thing exists (or if I'm really missing something). I'm looking for a Wordpress plugin that would do a popup/slideup "Donate Bitcoin?" prompt once a visitor scrolls to the bottom of a post. The thinking behind this is that it will be harder to zone out and ignore than a stationary donation button.
Does such a thing exist? Thanks!

Hi /r/Lightroom, I made a site for sharing Lightroom presets. Let me know what you think.

Hi /Lightroom,
In the last few weeks, I've spent the weekends hacking together a site to share Lightroom presets. I've learned a lot of PHP / WordPress programming and would love your feedback on it. I want to make it the best site to share LR presets. Trying to keep the layout clean and easy to navigate.
http://presetlove.com
Also, if you're interested in contributing your own presets, there's http://submit.presetlove.com .
Let me know what you think!
EDIT: Several people asked for a Bitcoin donation button and it is now added to the sidebar on the site. Thanks for the overwhelmingly positive feedback - I'm continuing to add features and presets everyday.

WordPress Donate Button for Goods

In the process of setting up a simple WordPress site, through which peeps can order goods, but want to be able to accept Bitcoin payments directly to my own wallet anonymously (instead of going through a 3rd party processor).
The only solution I can see is using a Bitcoin Donate Button, for which WordPress has numerous plug-ins and widgets.
Is anyone here using any of these, and if so, are there any security concerns (ie is https enough to stop someone swapping out wallet addresses?) I should be aware of. Also you have any recommendations?
Thanks in advance.

How can I set up a 'give bitcoin' button for my wife's blog? Apparently Wordpress HAD a Coinbase widget, but no longer.

I'm a HUGE bitcoin fan. I check this subreddit at least a dozen times a day. And my wife is starting a semi-serious blog and thinks a 'donate bitcoin' button is a good idea. The Coinbase blog says they have a WordPress widget available as a footer for your posts, but it doesn't seem to be there any more. Any ideas?

Wordpress plugin (Flattr alternative)

http://imgur.com/a/E4Dwn
I posted this Wordpress plugin here about a year ago but a lot has happened since. Flattr adoption has become relatively popular among open source projects and other content creators but I don't really think the 10% fee that they charge is a fair price for the service. With this Wordpress plugin I am trying to provide an alternative that
Coinbase is supported for payment processing right now which means that the button will simply redirect to a Coinbase payment page. I plan on supporting static bitcoin addresses in the future (as the old version did) and I also have a working prototype of a BIP32 backend. Let me know what you think.

Is there a plugin to prompt for an optional Bitcoin donation before directing the customer to a free download?

I don't expect I'll get many Bitcoin donations, but such a plugin would be great to at least expose people to Bitcoin's awesomeness. Most will certainly click cancel and continue on to the free download, but at least they'll be wondering "What the geekness is Bitcoin?"
I'm a recently published children's book author who embraces a Creative Commons approach to copyright and intellectual property (shout out to Stephan Kinsella!). My first book, Stick's Masterpiece, is available for free in PDF and video formats, with the hopes of perhaps making a few bucks selling physical copies on Amazon.
I'm looking for a Wordpress plugin that would prompt the user for a voluntary Bitcoin donation before directing them on to the free download. Perhaps a little pop up window that shows my donation address and QR code, along with a customizable message and a 'continue to download' button? Any solutions like this exist?

BTC Donate Button www.send-a-wow.org is for sell

Hey guys and girls,
a new baby-coiner is on the way =). Unfortunately my pregnant girlfriend needs more help, now. Help is time, so I have to appear shorter.
I am selling www.send-a-wow.org with the source code of all developed plugins. It is an donate button for Joomla, jQuery, Wordpress,... The user can donate to the developers too, read the configuration reference. The orange button is the demo. For a Bitcoin-demo go to "Support Us" and look for a red button. It is pure HTML and pure CSS with jQuery (of course, the Joomla and Wordpress Plugin is also in php), so everyone with some technical skills could advance it. The source code for the html-page is also included.
Make me an realistic offer if you are interested. Of cource you can pay it in BTC or DOGE, Paypal (iihhhh) and EU-Bank-Transfer is also accepted.
send a wow!

My Webcomic now accepts Bitcoin donations!

Hey guys. I do a sci-fi comic, Mozhaets: A Dystopian Science Fiction. It's not very big at all or anything, but in an attempt to make back what I spend on hosting and whatnot, I put in a donation section, and a wordpress donation button which I got from here (very good bit of code that's totally customizable.)
The webcomic community used to be bigger, it feels like, but it is and always has been a tightly-knit, passionate group of people. Donation is a long-standing tradition in webcomics, since many artists can't afford to make books and actually sell their shit.
If you read any webcomics, why don't you send them an email asking if they've considered accepting bitcoin donations? The more comics get into it, the more bitcoin gets out there.
Also, there's this advertising website called Project Wonderful that helps comics (and other types of websites) put ads on their pages through a give-and-take social scheme. It's a neat way to approach advertising, and I've sent them an email asking if they'd consider accepting bitcoin too.
Anyway, I like this community a lot and this is my only real way to contribute to Bitcoin adoption, so I just thought I'd mention it. Take care!

How I Made A Website In A Day (I had content)

Yesterday, after my friend and I finished our fourth montage parody, I decided to put them on a youtube playlist. At this point, I thought I might as well give them a home on a website, after all, we wanted to accept bitcoin donations for our videos and we had some writing we wanted to publish as well.
Wordpress.com made it too easy to have our site up and coinbase.com has merchant options for donation buttons. With a few clicks, uploads, and links our site was done by the morning.
It was hard, rewarding work, and I am proud to say I made a website in a day. Remember, making a website isn't about coding or even online presence, it's about having some content you want to share and an independent website becoming the best way to do it.
